by MIRIAM CERNUDA

Miriam Cernuda is the creative mind behind Working in the Redwoods. With a background in industrial design and jewelry, and an exceptional sensitivity towards objects, since 2013, Miriam has been developing her artistic work in her studio in Barcelona through unique pieces in natural materials and colors: sculpture, utilitarian and decorative objects, lighting, and interior space projects.

Her current collections are inspired by the simplification of classical forms from ancient civilizations, embarking on a journey along the ancient Silk Road, starting from the Mediterranean through Spain, Italy, Greece, Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, and Asia.

In this journey, she revives artisanal modeling methods, emphasizing the natural color of the earth and its various origins, resulting in organic and delicate pieces, almost like sculptures full of magic, history, and cultural diversity.

"The poetry of the intangible connection between the individual and the object fascinates me, that subtle balance between feeling through a material and the beauty of its contemplation, that magic that awakens primitive connections through matter and the pleasure of connecting with something. The ritual and delight of the everyday is a luxury we give ourselves."
